Update: EC Iasi, Romania

We completed the first week of class here at English Club (EC) Iasi, ROMANIA and are headed to the mountains near Vama for a weekend retreat Friday-Sunday.  Although it rained most days and EC attendance was up and down throughout the week, for the most part we were able to have 3 discussion groups each for the advanced & beginners and 4 groups for the intermediates.  We have had meaningful spiritual discussions about Jesus & His men braving a storm on the sea, feeding 5,000 men plus women & children and both of the sons and their forgiving father from Luke 15.  Each night after our two hours of lessons we play games with those who choose to hang around.

During our weekend retreat we will have a 3 to 4 hour bus ride up and back: 2 EC lessons; play games inside and have various sports activities outside; hike up a mountain; host the American party including a bonfire with s'mores; enjoy 6 home-cooked meals together: and all the while seek to engage the students in spiritual conversations.  Hopefully about 35-40 students will come and during the American party I (Steve) will share the story of how I came to know Jesus during a weekend retreat at Smith Mountain Lake, VA while a student at Virginia Tech.

We could really use your intercession on our behalf.  Yesterday our entire team experienced a spiritual attack so please pray for all these things as the Spirit leads.  We are engaged in a spiritual battle for the souls of these young men and women and greatly in need of your involvement.  Thanks!
